The Marshfield Blue Jays held the Ozark Tigers by the tail for an intense match , Tuesday in Marshfield. The Tigers played hard the first half and went to the break with a 2-0 lead. But, the Jays came out strong in the second half. Jesse Day scored the first goal, off the assist from Willis Zirschky, inspiring the Jays to even greater ferocity in their game. Play continued to intensify as both teams fought for the win. In the 58th minute, the Jays were justly rewarded with a second goal from Jesse Day, assisted by James Reese this time. The game continued on at a frenzied clip until a foul in the 18 yard box in the last 2 minutes of the game determined the final score. Unfortunately, for the Jays the foul went in favor of the Tigers, thus allowing a penalty kick to decide the game. The Jay’s Keeper, Cory Dotson, got a hand on the ball but, the kick, off the foot of #20 Robbie Curtiss, settled in the net to make the final score 2-3, in favor of the Tigers. The Blue Jays continue to get better with each match and we look forward to another intense match Thursday, with our first away game. The Jays will be ready to do battle with the Hornets at Hillcrest. See you there! GO JAYS!!!
