The Blue Jays Take the Sting Out of Hornets
The Marshfield Blue Jays definitely took the sting out of the Hillcrest Hornets at Hillcrest’s home field, Thursday evening. The Blue Jays played strong even though they were missing their only senior. The Jays scored first off a well placed penalty kick from Willis Zirschky, when he was fouled in the box. the next goal came a few minutes later when CJ Obermaier sent one into the net. The Jays never looked back from there, Jesse Day planted another ball between the post to make the score 3-0. The fourth goal came when Willis Zirschky sent the ball up to Ethan Jernigan to head in for the score. The Jay’s final goal came when Robert Martin followed the play through after the Hornet’s Keeper didn’t get control of the ball. The Hornet’s did score in the second half to make the final 5-1. This sets the Blue Jay’s record at 2-3-0. These stats should continue to get better as the team continues to strengthen and polish their game. Our next game is Monday , 9/11/06 at Laquey. Let’s keep it going Jays!! For more GREAT photos of the game go to Springfield Soccer under the Friends heading to the right of the screen.
