Blue Jays Take The Sting out Of Hornets

The Marshfield Blue Jays came on to the home pitch ready to play last night. The Jays took on the Lebanon Hornets in a game that had the teams pretty evenly matched. The Hornets stung first, early in the half when the ball found it’s way past the Marshfield keeper. Robert Martin took the sting out of the Lebanon team when he tied the score in the 29th minute of play. There is some dispute as to whether it is an assist or not, but Ethan Jernigan is the player that got the ball to Martin that enabled him to make the drive to the box. That score held through the half. The second half was a tough fight for both teams. The game remained scoreless, until Colton Harden sent the ball up to Robert Martin with just 5 minutes left in the game. Martin lobed one past the Lebanon Keeper to make the score 2-1 in favor of the Jays. That score held to give the Jays their second win in as many games. Great Job Jays!
The JV team also got a win from a goal by Cory Day which made the score 1-0. They only played one half. Nic Yonter got the shut out. Once again the team played with a disadvantage in the number of players on the field. GO Jays!!!
The Jays take on Cental , Monday night in Springfield, game time, 4:30. See you there . GO JAYS!!!
